how do you start it? sorry if i'm being thick but i can't get anything past the "Left and Right arrows or Pressed Mouse to MOVE, P to PAUSE..."

Hey! You get over the word IT to trigger the game starting, as this is how you kill enemies/reload! Hope you have fun.

The game doesn't seem to load at all. I'm using Google Chrome.

In Chrome, you'll need to allow the plug-in for flash to run for it to play, it's likely what is causing the issue. Hope this helps! (I'll put a note in the description for future folks!)

how do you allow it to run?

Click on the green lock, go site settings. To the right of where it says Flash it either says "Ask", "Allow" or "Block" click "Allow"  Okay? That worked for me and I'm on Chrome :D
